Question Are all cemeteries regulated by the State of New York?

Answer No. The Division of Cemeteries and the State Cemetery Board regulate only those nondenominational cemeteries that are incorporated under not-for-profit corporation law. Cemeteries not subject to Department of State jurisdiction include religious, municipal, and private or family cemeteries.
