What is needed to serve an Insurance Summons or Service of Process?

 If action is taking place in a court located in New York State and if it against a licensed insurance company, Risk Retention or Purchasing Group, or a non-resident agent or broker, send one copy and a $20.00 check made payable to the Superintendent of Insurance. If action is taking place in a court located in New York State and it is against an insurance company not licensed in New York State, it will be accepted pursuant to Section 1213 of the Insurance Law; send 2 copies of the Service of Process, provide us with the last known principal address of the company and a $20 check made payable to the Superintendent of Insurance.
