Where can I get a list of laboratories that do drug testing?
The oversight of clinical laboratories in New York State is the responsibility of the State Health Department. There, the Division of Laboratory Quality Certification carries out the Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP).
Among the many kinds of labs they certify are those that do toxicology, which is the technical term for what most people think of as 'drug testing'.
For more information, visit the
Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program web site
Once there, select
Toxicology for information about labs that do drug testing. Be sure to read the descriptions of the various categories before accessing a directory of laboratories. Labs holding permits are listed by county within each specialty.
