What eligibility requirements need to be met to receive help from the Crime Victims Board?
The victim must be an innocent victim of a crime and the crime must be reported to a criminal justice agency in most cases. You may be eligible if you sustained personal physical injury; paid or incurred burial expenses; are the surviving spouse, grandparent, parent, stepparent, child or stepchild of a victim who died as a direct result of a crime; are a child victim of or witness to a crime; are a family member or stepfamily member of a child victim of crime; are 60 or older, or disabled, and have suffered a loss or damage to articles of essential personal property.
