 You can request driver license or vehicle records from the Department of Motor Vehicles. You cannot check DMV records on-line. You must have a permissible use under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) to request DMV records that contain personal information.

The DMV web site has the instructions to request DMV records.

You can order your own driver license record on-line, but the record will be sent to you in the mail.

You can search, order and access on-line motor vehicle accident reports that have been filed by police and motorists with the NYS DMV.
