Where can I find information about DEC’s environmental education camps for adolescents and teenagers?
Each summer, DEC provides a residential camp program in conservation education for New York State youths, aged 12 to 17. In addition to swimming, boating, fishing and sports, the four DEC camp programs offer fun activities that teach girls and boys sound conservation practices and an appreciation for our natural resources. These activities include map making, hiking and tracking, and hunter safety. The camping season runs from late June to late August, and there are eight one-week sessions, including Returnee Week. A camper may attend only one session. The total cost for each one-week session is $250. There are a limited number of camp scholarships, called Camperships, and program sponsorships available.
