What is a modern roundabout?
The modern roundabout is a type of circular intersection that uses roadway geometry, to calm traffic, reduce vehicle speed and yield signs on approach, to assign right of way to circulating traffic. The modern roundabout has been successfully implemented in Europe and Australia for decades, with tens of thousands in operation. In the United States, currently, there are now over a thousand and New York has over thirty roundabouts.
