How does New York State propose to improve US Route 219 between Springville in Erie County and Salamanca in Cattaraugus County?

 The New York State Department of Transporation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, is preparing and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on a proposal to improve US Route 219 between Route 39 in Erie County (near Springville) to Interstate 86 in Cattaraugus County (near Salamanca). Three alternatives are being considered; they include a four-lane divided freeway, a four-lane divided arterial with bypasses or and continued maintenance of the existing roadway.
