How do I apply to become a notary public?
An applicant for a notary public commission (license) must submit to the Department of State's Division of Licensing Services a completed original application and a $30 fee. The application includes an oath of office, which must be sworn and notarized; the application form and fee; and a "pass slip" showing that the applicant has taken and passed the notary public examination. Examinations are scheduled regularly.
